Way, way back

I have my parents to thank for a life-long commitment to drumming that began in the summer of ‘66 and not 1866! Rather than just buying me a set of drums to bang on, they had the vision to demand that if I was intent on becoming a drummer I had to take formal drum instruction.

I was blessed to have studied with two of the finest drum teachers in Connecticut at that time - Eddie Montana (Waterbury) and Al Lepac (Hartford). These amazing teachers educated and mentored me as I developed a strong foundation to advance my drumming.

Their instruction and mentoring worked well because in 1975, I had the opportunity of becoming the drummer in a national touring band, playing with some of the finest and most accomplished musicians.

Over the years I have played thousands of gigs and have logged tons of hours as a session drummer in some of the finest studios:
The Record Plant (NYC)
Trod Nossel Studios (CT)
Moxie Studio (CT)
Crytone Studios (CT)
In the Red (NY)

Now

I currently drum in two great bands and log countless session hours in my drum / recording studio - Moxie Studios. (check out Moxie)

MACALAS - A spot on, authentic Emerson, Lake and Palmer tribute but with a cool twist. We incorporate the best 70’s progressive rock of other great 70’s prog artists into our show.

Capricorn - Our killer Allman Brothers tribute. This fantastic 6 piece band is building a very large and loyal regional following. We do this by remaining true to ABB’s music and incredible musical vibe.

I also continue to log countless studio hours both behind and in front of the board at Moxie Studios. As a true Gemini I wear many hats -session drummer, recording engineer, producer, and mastering engineer, collaborating and jamming with some of my incredibly gifted friends - songwriters, musicians and bands.

Pay it forward

Now retired, I’ve decided to go back to one of my true loves - teaching people to play drums.

My teaching philosophy bridges the “old school” methods I learned as a kid with the demands and needs of the modern drummer.

I‘m blessed to have some amazing students.

I ‘m fully committed to carefully growing my student base of beginner and intermediate drum students. And the goal is to provide students with the blueprint, and mentorship, to advance their drumming to wherever they want to take it. Check out my teaching curriculum here.

I admit, I‘m a “everything drums” nerd!
I’ve had a lifelong love of everything drums and drumming - especially owning, buying, selling, restoring and refurbishing them. I also share a love of all things percussion.
